For the OFF Bienale 2015 in Budapest we staged, together with our students, a number of low-key performances at the Hungarian Cultural Centre in Prague, and we documented them continually. This resulted in a screening of nearly 1000 images at the centre’s cinema. Conference develops this strategy further. The term “conference” becomes a blueprint for an event which tries to name, redefine, and confuse our notion of documentary photography. Our aim is to create a formless situation where distinguishing between means, motive and result becomes difficult. Is documentary photography a life record? It documentary photography alive? Is there life without photography?
