Printed media were the traditional platform for publishing photographs. In the last two decades, however, photographs have made their move from the pages of newspapers and magazines on- and into the internet and galleries. What are we to see on the pages of a daily or weekly? What visual content do photoeditors pick these days, and on what criteria? Does quality photography still have a place in the media, or has it been banished to the hermetic ghetto of artists and enthusiasts? Are the media trying to ask social questions through contemporary documentary photography, or do they just need illustrations to go with the actual news? How has photojournalism changed and where is this type of photography going? And is anyone taking pictures using something other than a phone?
